Challenge Yourself: 2011

Well I ran over 1000 miles again in 2010...Other than a nasty bike wreck, The years wasn't to bad. I set a new PR in the 5k, I ran a marathon in October and another in November. I also made several new friends :0)

Why a blog

I’ve created this blog to keep me on track and maybe inspire you too.
Back in May 2007 I was stepping on the scale at around 230lbs. I’m fairly tall by today’s standards at about 6ft. 2inches , so my body sort of hid the weight. However all the BMI reports showed me being way overweight. I’ve always told myself it couldn’t happen to me. Now I look in the mirror, and it did.
Over the years I’ve always considered myself being a fairly good athlete, but its been 25 yrs. since I got out of high school.
Now the question is...Can I do it again?
I never really ran in track, but everyone says running was one of the best ways to get back in shape, plus running isn’t a team effort. Its all about you and your will power! I like that part.
If I fail I do, but if I succeed its all about me and how bad I want it.
It can’t be temporary, it has to be drastic, a total life style change.
