10 miles to go

Well, only 10 miles to go till I hit my goal of 1000 miles in a year.

I don't need to say any more.

Merry Christmas

The day is perfect weather to run. The sun is shinning & the ice is melted enough to safely run without killing yourself. I ran out south of town past the Univ. horse farm & hit the big country block. It wasn't to bad till the wind hit you in the face. The sweat wanted to freeze your cheeks. But it felt good to get off the treadmill for a while. While going through a wooded area I looked to my left and saw 3 Cardinals on one shrub. I wish I'd have had a camera. Oh well they were truly beautiful! I got in 8 miles in 1 hr & 9 minutes. Not bad.

Now its time to join the family for the annual Christmas feast.

M/C to all.

Getting use to the Y

Another day at the YMCA, the ice still hasn't melted enough to safely run outside. It's not worth killing myself. I've been running at the Y on the treadmill. It's not to bad. I did another 6 1/2 miles after work today. The only thing I don't like is, the treadmills only run for 1/2 hour segments. I can usally get about 3.4 miles in that time. Then they slow down for a minute or so. Then I have to restart them. It gives me a chance to get a drink, then off I go again. I know the Y sets them up that way so if they are real busy, people won't have to wait.
As you can tell, I'm trying my best to hit the 1000 mile yearly goal.

P.S. A good day at work, sold a Tundra Truck, also talked to Big Ben's dad today.

Ice and snow run

Went on a slow but enjoyable icy and snowy run tonight. I think this was my 1st of the year. I got in about 5 1/2 miles.......Wasn't to bad. Just had to watch my step. I think we will be getting more ice in the next day or so. I think I'll have to hit the teadmill at the YMCA for a while. It's not worth getting hurt.

Late night in the cold

Worked the late shift again at work. Got in about 7:45 AM and left at 9:05 PM.....The joys of a dealership. It's hard to imagine that first thing this morning the temp was in the mid 40's, then by noon. 20's. Wow, damp and blowing cold. The wind chill said 6 degrees, but regular temp. was 18. Ok, so what do I do....RUN...that right, I trying my best to hit my goal of running 1000 miles in a yr. It's going to be tuff, but I have to try. I ran a little over 6 miles tonight. That puts me at 913 miles.....I would have been there if it weren't for the injury earlier in the yr. I lost a month of running there real quick. Oh well. It is what it is.....If it were easy everyone would do it.
