Well, I made it to the sports doctor. He was a referral from an other runner. I guess he runs as well. He seems to be the right man to diagnose my problem. The normal is to get x-rays on both knees & that way he gets a better picture of whats going on. As you know, my right knee was feeling better, but I still wanted to have him check it to play it safe. He was agreeing with my IT Band, but he also felt that I may have tendinitis also. (The muscle pulling away from the bone). That's all good, because time will cure that. Then he asked me if my other knee was giving me problems. I said "No". Why do you ask. He said it appeared as if the cartilage was damaged. I told him years ago I hurt it in football. But that's all I could remember. He said it was bad enough, that if the cartilage broke loose it could stop my running career. Wow,,, He said it's just one of those things. Thank goodness it doesn't seem to be bothering me. If it locks up, I guess I'll know.
I've run the last few days, all seems good. I did some tempo runs at Donnell Track for a total of about 3 miles, Then did another 5k this morning. All seemed good. I think I'll take off tomorrow just to rest the legs. They say rest is the key.
